Artesunate Injection  MedSunate is made up of the drug named Artesunate, which is used in the treatment of malaria. It is not used to stop malaria or to treat serious malaria that affects the brain, lungs, or kidneys. Here is the way how Artesunate works on malaria:

  • Malaria is a disease caused by a tiny germ called a plasmodium. It is spread when a person gets bitten by infected Anopheles mosquitoes.
  • When an infected mosquito bites a healthy person, it passes a tiny germ called the ‘Plasmodium parasite’ into their blood. This germ can harm the red blood cells and liver cells.
