Each vial contains:

  • Cloxacillin (as Cloxacillin Sodium USP): 500 mg

Cloxacillin 500mg Injection is used to treat beta-hemolytic streptococcal, pneumococcal, and staphylococcal infections. Severe infections due to streptococci and/or staphylococci: meningitis, pneumonia, omphalitis, septicaemia of cutaneous origin, endocarditis, osteomyelitis, necrotizing skin and soft tissues infections, etc.

Cloxacillin Sodium for Injection is a medicine that helps fight some bacterial infections. It is used to treat skin and soft tissue infections caused by certain types of staphylococcus bacteria that produce beta-lactamase. This medicine is also used to treat infections such as endocarditis, blood infections, and bone infections.

How To Use Cloxacillin Sodium for Injection?

  • The suggested dose of cloxacillin for adults is between 250 mg and 500 mg. You should take it four times a day when your stomach is empty, which means either one or two hours before eating. The amount of medicine for kids and babies depends on their age and weight.
  • The amount you need depends on your weight and what kind of infection you have. Cloxacillin is injected into a vein or muscle every 6 hours.
